The CONQUAIR project (ICT Applications to CONquer Optimal Quality of AIR in Long-Term Care Settings) is an innovative initiative designed to revolutionize air quality management in healthcare environments. Launched in September 2024, this two-year project is a collaborative effort between EMBIO Diagnostics (coordinator), the University of Florence, Class Srl (Italy), and Resysten Kft (Hungary). Proudly sponsored by ‘Eureka-Eurostars,’ CONQUAIR is focused on developing advanced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions to optimize air quality in long-term care facilities, addressing a critical challenge in modern healthcare and aligning with the RIS3 agenda. Our primary Objectives are to
- Ensure Continuous Real-Time Monitoring Our solution facilitates continuous real-time monitoring of air microclimate parameters, focusing on conditions that could foster the transmission of airborne pathogens. By providing precise and up-to-date data, we aim to significantly reduce the risks associated with poor air quality.
- Enhance Decision-Making for Healthcare Facilities We are committed to supporting healthcare facilities in making informed decisions to optimize indoor air quality. Our system will provide actionable insights that enhance the overall health and safety of both patients and healthcare workers, ensuring a healthier environment for all.
- Offer User-Centric Mobile Application The project will deliver an end-user-adapted mobile application, tailored for healthcare professionals. This intuitive interface will offer well-documented guidelines, interventions, and action-based protocols to mitigate risk events and prevent the transmission of airborne illnesses through both air and surfaces.
